About
LRED
Economic development groups from Arco and Mackay as well as elected officials from Butte County and south Custer County met together and formed the Lost Rivers Economic Development, Inc., (LRED). In March, 2004, Butte and south Custer county commissioners, Arco and Mackay Mayors, developed a strategic plan for the new economic group. Articles of Incorporation and By-laws were developed, and the nonprofit, 501 c3, corporation was organized. The LRED board consists of a commissioner from Butte and south Custer, the Arco and Mackay mayors, the Chambers of Commerce presidents, from both cities, and four "at large" members from each county. This provides a broad base of representation from each county. On May 13, 2004, Mark Stauffer took the proposal for LRED to the Regional Development Alliance (RDA) asking for funding support. RDA was in favor of the new economic development proposal and funded it for the first two years. LRED EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Michelle
